Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced groomer to join our team on either a part-time or full-time basis.
Summary:
The job of a pet groomer is to bathe, brush, trim and provide other grooming services for domestic pets, usually dogs and cats. A professional pet groomer does much more than just keep our pets looking and smelling nice. A pet groomer can be an important member of a pet's healthcare team by discovering potential problems early, such as ear infections, skin abnormalities or tooth decay.
Typical Tasks:
The groomer shall be responsible for, but is not limited to the following: 1. Bathing and Grooming a. Shampoos the animals to ensure their coats are clean and smelling fresh b. Provides hair cutting services based on the animal's breed type and client preference c. Trims nails in order to make them blunt d. Brushes animal's coat/fur in order to diminish knots and shed loose fur e. Cleans ears and check/expresses anal glands for general health care maintenance 2. Overall Body Checks a. Checks the animal's whole body in order to be able to alert the clients of any outward signs that the dog may need to be seen by the healthcare team b. Communicates necessary findings with medical staff as needed 3. Cleaning and Maintenance a. Maintains a clean and safe workspace for all clients and employees 4. Operations a. Handles client relations when needed and provide excellent customer service b. Is knowledgeable about current grooming practice c. Effectively operates computer scheduling software 5. Time Management a. Efficiently provides and completes grooming services within a structured time frame for client convenience 6. Attends all staff and training meetings 7. Completes other duties as needed

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
