Job Description
Yoder Department Store is hiring several permanent Service Associates! We are seeking energetic and friendly associates to join our Cashiering and Apparel department. Must be available to work majority of Saturdays, with Saturday shift premium provided. Part-time and Full-time openings.
Specifically looking for:
excellent customer service , intermediate computer processing (Excel and POS) , strong analytical thinking , ability to problem solve and troubleshoot, and high degree of accuracy.Job Summary:
A Service Associate is responsible for maintaining Guest service as per Company standard, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention and adherence to all Company Policies/Standards. Communicate Guest requests to management.Essential Functions:
- Ensure the Guest receives outstanding service.
- Ensure first line defense against shoplifting.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all product information.
- Write special orders if necessary while ensuring merchandise is available to be ordered. Suggest alternative merchandise, if appropriate.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and Store housekeeping.
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise, including receiving and monitoring floor stock.
- Assist in preparation and process of inventory taking.
- Learn and execute specialized skills that may be required in any given department.
- Process information through computer system.
- Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications:
Previous retail or Guest service experience desired. Ability to read and interpret documents such as department manual; basic math skills, ability to speak effectively with Guests. Must be computer literate. Must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions.Education/Training/Experience:
Must have, or be in the process of, obtaining a High School Diploma or G.E.D.; retail experience desirable. Computer skills.Essential Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate with associates and Guests.
- Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- This position may require the ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
