Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our dedicated team. Your expertise in mortuary science principles, embalming techniques, and funeral event planning will help create meaningful experiences for clients while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and sanitation. Duties Coordinate and manage funeral arrangements from initial consultation through service delivery, ensuring all client needs are met with empathy and professionalism Perform embalming procedures, including cosmetic application for deceased persons, dissection, and anatomy preservation to prepare bodies for viewings or cremation Operate company vehicles safely for transportation of remains and funeral equipment, adhering to all safety protocols Assist families with bereavement support, providing guidance and emotional comfort during difficult times Plan and execute funeral services and memorial events, managing logistics such as venue setup, transportation, and coordination with vendors Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks related to body preparation, casket movement, and equipment setup while maintaining strict sanitation standards Maintain accurate records of mortuary procedures, cremation documentation, and client interactions using funeral service technology systems Communicate effectively with clients to explain procedures, options for services or cremation, and answer any questions with clarity and sensitivity Skills Extensive knowledge of mortuary science principles, anatomy, physiology, and dissection techniques Proficiency in embalming methods and cosmetic application for deceased persons to ensure natural appearance Strong organizational skills to manage multiple funeral arrangements efficiently under tight deadlines Excellent client communication skills with a focus on compassionate bereavement support Experience in funeral directing including event planning, logistics coordination, and vendor management Ability to operate heavy machinery such as caskets lifts or mortuary equipment safely and effectively Familiarity with funeral service technology platforms for record keeping and scheduling Knowledge of sanitation practices necessary for maintaining a clean work environment in compliance with health regulations Sales skills to guide families through available services while respecting their wishes and cultural preferences This role is ideal for motivated professionals committed to providing dignified care with attention to detail.
