We need a director that can demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills, while overseeing staff and client needs.
Core Requirements Education:
Associate Degree in
Funeral Service Education or Mortuary Science Licensure:
Must be a Licensed Funeral Home Director in
Arkansas Essential Skills and Abilities Empathy and Compassion:
Ability to work with grieving families in a calm, professional manner.
Organization and Logistics:
Planning, scheduling, and managing complex service details, often with limited time.
Common Job Duties Arrangement Conferences:
Meeting with families to plan funeral services, cremation, or burials.
Regulatory Compliance:
Preparing, filing, and managing legal documents, such as death certificates and burial permits.
Logistics Management:
Coordinating transport of remains and scheduling funeral services.
Aftercare Services:
Assisting families with post-funeral tasks
Communication:
Interacting with families, clergy, and staff to coordinate services.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs., often necessary for moving caskets or remains.
Technology Proficiency:
Experience with Microsoft Office and case management software.
Working Conditions/Commute Hours:
Irregular hours are standard, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations. Company is located in the Springdale/Elm Springs area, so you will need to live within a reasonable distance. Benefits Health Insurance, PTO/Vacation Pay Equal Opportunity Employer #
