As a Tailor, you will be responsible for altering, repairing, and customizing garments to meet the specific needs of our clients. This role requires proficiency in sewing techniques and the ability to work with various fabrics and styles. The tailor/fitter will work on a percentage for their pay. Responsibilities Perform alterations on garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and adjusting fit. Repair damaged clothing by sewing patches, replacing zippers, or fixing seams. Consult with clients to understand their specific tailoring needs and preferences. Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to complete alterations accurately. Maintain an organized workspace and ensure all tools and materials are kept in good condition. Keep track of client orders and timelines to ensure timely completion of work. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally. Skills Proficiency in using a sewing machine and hand-sewing techniques. Strong understanding of garment construction principles. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to alterations. Experience in fashion retail is a plus but not required. Attention to detail and a keen eye for style and fit.
