Overview We are seeking a talented and dedicated Seamstress Tailor to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this vital role, you will bring garments to life through expert sewing, alterations, and garment construction, ensuring each piece meets our high standards of quality and style. Your craftsmanship will help customers look and feel their best, whether working on custom apparel or adjusting ready-to-wear items. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your sewing expertise and passion for fashion in a vibrant retail environment. Duties Perform clothing alterations and repairs with precision, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments for optimal fit Construct garments from scratch using various fabric materials, ensuring accurate measurements and high-quality stitching Operate sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing tools efficiently to produce polished finished products Use pressing machines to press garments for a professional appearance after sewing or alterations Assist customers by providing expert advice on fabric materials, garment fit, and tailoring options while delivering exceptional customer service Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sewing area, tools, and supplies to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and uphold the store's standards for garment construction and alterations Experience Proven experience in clothing alterations, garment sewing, or fashion retail tailoring Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing techniques Knowledge of fabric materials and garment construction processes across men's wear tailoring and women's wear tailoring Familiarity with basic math for measurements, pattern adjustments, and fabric calculations Strong understanding of stitching techniques, seam finishing, and press operation to achieve professional results Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about tailoring options and garment care Prior experience working with various fabrics such as cotton, silk, wool, or synthetic blends is preferred Join us as a Seamstress Tailor and become a key part of creating stylish, well-fitted garments that delight our customers.
