Responsibilities Perform clothing alterations, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments to ensure perfect fit and comfort Construct garments from scratch using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and garment construction principles Operate pressing machines and press garments to achieve crisp finishes and professional presentation Use fabric knowledge to select appropriate materials for each project, considering texture, durability, and care instructions Provide outstanding customer service by understanding client needs, offering style advice, and communicating progress clearly Execute precise stitching for both functional repairs and decorative details across various clothing types such as men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations while adhering to safety standards for press operation and sewing equipment Experience Proven experience in fashion retail or a similar environment with a focus on clothing alterations and garment sewing Skilled in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and hand sewing techniques with attention to detail Knowledge of fabric materials including their properties and appropriate handling methods Familiarity with garment construction processes from pattern making to final finishing Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, sizing adjustments, and pattern modifications Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about their needs and expectations Experience working with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, or custom apparel production is highly desirable Join us as a Seamstress Tailor where your craftsmanship transforms fabrics into beautifully tailored garments that make our customers feel confident every day!
