We have an exciting opportunity for an entry level Fabrication Assistant with a focus on initial assembly of stainless-steel sheet parts and tubing prior to passing them on to seasoned fabricators to join our team. The Fabrication Assistant / General Help position is responsible for the initial step in our production process and requires competent assembly of our products prior to passing them on to the final Fabricators and our welding team to complete the product . Our central North Phoenix facility and sales office conveniently situated off I-17. In this professional yet inviting work environment, we are currently seeking skilled craftsmen to join our team. Working on our team as a fabrication helper may include the layout, basic assembly, and fabrication of products having multiple details. Materials include stainless steel, aluminum and titanium-tube and sheet. While some tasks require a mastery level of experience, this is an introductory position where your positive attitude, demonstrated competency and performance will quickly earn you advances to our higher-level parts fabrication team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level of understanding that enables the following and transmission of oral and written instructions Maintain a high attention to safety, quality, and productivity in our shop, welding and fabrication areas Perform minor maintenance on equipment Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment Sawing, bending, cutting, and grinding on products such as stainless steel tube and sheet Safely operate shop equipment such as tube benders, drill presses, saws, and grinders Process material by following instructions on work orders and shop drawings and verify material and work for accuracy Prepare and process all paperwork necessary to complete orders Maintain schedule and assure on time shipment of orders based on customer expectations Order and maintain necessary levels of raw materials and supplies Maintain equipment by following required preventative maintenance schedules and documenting tasks Observe safety procedures, assure self and others safety and report any safety issues Properly stack processed material and pack as required in preparation for additional fabrication steps Attendance is very important with this position
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Have knowledge in the use of basic shop equipment including saws, grinders, drill press, etc. Capable of following written instructions and interpret shop drawings Capable of following required safety procedures Ability to work independently in a production-oriented environment Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask Strong attention to detail and accuracy Self-starter with a willingness to learn Metal finishing (grinding/de-burr/polish) experience is a plus Must have excellent problem-solving skills, and work quickly, with high accuracy. Ability to think for yourself and work to improve the quality of product through craftsmanship and innovative thinking Have a professional demeanor and the ability to work with others. Have a clean driving record, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation
Compensation:
  • $17.50 - $22/Hour (DOE)
  • 40 Hours / Week. Monday-Friday
  • Paid sick PTO

Educational/Certification Requirement:
