Job:
The Surface Design Technician is responsible for assisting in each Surface Design area as needed to apply designs, appliqués, and embellishments to garments according to company quality standards and customer specifications. This role ensures accurate placement, proper machine settings, and high-quality execution across all embellished products. Working closely with Production Surface Design Specialists, the Surface Design Technician supports efficient workflow, sample creation, and on-time order completion. This position plays a key role in delivering visually accurate, high-quality finished garments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up and operate embellishment machinery, selecting appropriate materials and settings for each project. Review daily work assignments, priorities, and timelines with supervisor or team lead. Follow prototypes, patterns, and spec sheets to ensure accurate design placement and embellishment execution. Cut, prepare, and apply appliqués and other embellishment components as required. Adjust machine settings based on fabric type, design requirements, and material specifications. Inspect materials and finished products to ensure alignment with customer requirements and company quality standards. Assist with kit assembly, finishing tasks, or other production support as required. Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to communicate timelines, product specifications, and any issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all safety protocols and stop work when necessary to address risks or concerns. Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
About You:
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, placement, and quality. Experienced working with machinery and comfortable adjusting settings for different materials and designs. Reliable and accountable, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines. Hands-on and adaptable, willing to support multiple areas of production as needed. Strong team player with effective communication skills across departments. Proactive in identifying quality issues and making necessary adjustments. Takes pride in producing visually precise, high-quality finished products. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Education and Experience:
Experience in embroidery, rhinestones, spangles, textile production, or a related field preferred. Experience operating heat presses or similar production equipment preferred. Familiarity with appliqué techniques, embellishment placement, or garment decoration is a plus. Experience working from prototypes, patterns, or spec sheets preferred. Basic understanding of safety practices in a production environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and move around for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Wage:
$16.00 per hour. Monday-Friday, 6:30am
- 3:00pm
- To ensure customer needs are met, this position may occasionally require working more than 45 hours per week to accommodate business demands and responsibilities.
