Veterinary Technician Full Job Description Healthy Paws Animal Hospital in Glendora is hiring full-time Veterinary Technicians/Assistants. We are looking for Veterinary Technicians/Assistants willing to learn and grow with our hospital. Our core values are integrity, dedication, and professionalism. Veterinary Technician Job Duties:
History taking from clients Administering medications to animals in a safe manner Restraining animals for exams and procedures in a proper manner In-patient care including cleaning cages, walking dogs out, monitoring patients and other. Taking TPR accurately Proper sample acquisition for lab test Performing proper dental cleanings Radiology set up and positioning Properly calculating drug dosage Filling prescribed medication by doctors and dispensing it to clients. Maintaining laboratory equipment in good condition Providing peri-operative care to in-patients Cleaning surgical instruments and properly making surgical packs and sterilizing it General housekeeping works Responsible for training and mentoring veterinary assistants to ensure high standards of patient care and clinic efficiency. Basic client education (No medical advice to clients on specific patients is allowed) Effectively communicate with rest of the staff
Requirements and Qualifications:
Candidate should have basic understanding of animal behavior and health care Responsible and approachable work ethic Passion for learning and improving 2-3 years previous work experience in veterinary field required Candidate must be able to work efficiently by prioritizing and managing multi tasks Tech savvy, a plus Being able to induce and monitor anesthesia properly Team player Being able to maintain grace under pressure in stressful situations. Work requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.; requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time.

May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches, and contagious diseases

$22.00-$25.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience, skills, and licensure)
