Full-time, 40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts About CARE California Animal Rehabilitation (CARE) is a veterinary specialty rehabilitation clinic providing advanced care for dogs, cats, and rabbits. Our state-of-the-art 8,000-square-foot facility in West Los Angeles represents the gold standard in pet physical rehabilitation. CARE provides rehabilitation services including acupuncture, physical therapy, laser therapy, pulsed signal therapy, underwater treadmill (UWTM), and swimming, as well as medical day and overnight boarding for patients recovering from orthopedic, neurologic, and mobility-related conditions. Position Overview CARE is seeking a full-time Pet Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support veterinarians and rehabilitation staff during appointments and daily patient care. This is a hands-on, physically active role in a medical environment. Pet Therapy Assistants receive on-the-job training and work closely with clinical staff to support safe, high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and rehabilitation staff during therapy appointments Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and rabbits with varying medical needs Support rehabilitation treatments as directed by clinical staff Provide care for medical and rehab boarding patients, including feeding, medicating, and monitoring Perform basic hygiene and comfort care as part of medical support, including bathing orthopedic patients and routine grooming support Clean and reset treatment areas, kennels, and equipment Document patient care and treatments as required Interact professionally and respectfully with clients Training & Experience We are open to hiring candidates with no formal experience in veterinary rehabilitation, provided they have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine love for animals. Prior animal care experience is helpful but not required. Training is provided.Availability Clinic hours:
Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM-7:00 PM Full-time position: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts Saturday availability is required Physical Requirements Ability to lift and support up to 70 lbs Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity Our team plays a direct role in improving the quality of life for animals recovering from injury or illness.
