The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary care, demonstrating proficiency in various technical skills and a passion for animal welfare. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinary team in delivering exceptional services. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and staff. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining aseptic technique. Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary team. Provide dental care, including knowledge of dental terminology and procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Support animal husbandry practices to ensure optimal health and well-being of all animals in care. Assist with pet grooming, training, and behavioral assessments as needed. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Requirements Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant with comprehensive knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Familiarity with animal anatomy, catheterization techniques, and restraint methods. Experience in veterinary critical care is highly desirable. Background in laboratory work with an understanding of diagnostic procedures. Kennel experience is preferred for managing animal behavior effectively. Equine experience is a plus for those working with larger animals. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
