Harbour Ridge Equine is a privately owned, forward-thinking, high-quality GP equine practice located on a stunning 15-acre property in Palm City, Florida— just minutes from the beautiful sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast and in the heart of SE Florida's equestrian communities, we are a short drive to Wellington, Ocala, Orlando, and Miami, and not much further to the Florida Keys! We provide ambulatory and haul-in care for a diverse clientele, ranging from high-performance sport horses to beloved backyard companions. Our team is known for practicing high-quality, compassionate medicine with a collaborative teamwork approach. We exist because we are all horse lovers, working together to solve problems that help our patients and owners when they need us most.
About the role/ key responsibilities:
  • Ability to handle horses with confidence to assist veterinarians with evaluation and treatment of patients. This can include lunging or jogging a patient at the direction of an HRE veterinarian.
  • Equipment set-up and handling.
  • Stocking veterinarian truck for upcoming medical appointments and potential emergency cases.
  • Assisting in medication dispensing as directed.
  • Transcribing medical records/histories or billing for an appointment.
  • Driving veterinarian to and from appointments in a safe manner.
  • Learning & development opportunities including; equipment handling, basic animal care & treatments, sterile processes, laboratory basics.
