This hands-on position supports the maintenance and repair of our golf course turf equipment, utility vehicles, golf carts, and related machinery to help ensure safe, reliable operation and exceptional course conditions. Working closely with the Equipment Manager, the Assistant Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, maintain cutting equipment, and help keep the maintenance shop organized and operating safely. What You'll Do Perform routine oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and preventive maintenance. Inspect, adjust, and sharpen reel and rotary mower cutting units. Diagnose and repair minor electrical, hydraulic, brake, and fuel-system issues. Maintain accurate service and repair records for Club equipment and tools. Assist with welding, fabrication, and bodywork repairs as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious maintenance shop. Operate specialized turf equipment on the golf course during peak maintenance periods when needed. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude , attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our golf course maintenance team. Experience maintaining or repairing golf course or agricultural equipment is preferred. Candidates should have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school certification and preferably 1-2 years of mechanical repair experience . A valid driver's license is required to operate Club vehicles, and having a personal inventory of basic mechanical hand tools is highly preferred. Physical & Work Requirements This is an active, hands-on position that requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds , regularly bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods. The work environment includes exposure to outdoor weather conditions, mechanical equipment, noise, vibration, and fumes. Why Piper's Landing?
