Duties Provide outstanding animal handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and surgeries to ensure safety for pets and staff Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, medication administration, and surgical support Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment in accordance with PPE guidelines Support animal husbandry tasks including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior to promote animal welfare Record detailed notes on patient history, treatments administered, and clinical observations to ensure accurate record keeping Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, post-operative care, and general inquiries to foster trust and transparency Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques based on their behavior and physiology while ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures Experience Previous kennel or animal shelter experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dog handling and basic animal husbandry is a plus Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting, especially with veterinary terminology and record keeping practices Hands-on veterinary technician or critical care experience that includes assisting with surgeries or emergency procedures Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, and welfare principles to support comprehensive patient care Ability to operate equipment such as IV catheters, medication dispensers, and cleaning tools while adhering to safety protocols including PPE use Strong communication skills for interacting with clients confidently about pet health needs and clinic procedures Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their veterinary experience while making a meaningful difference in animals' lives.
