Overview Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Flatbed Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with energy and precision! In this role, you'll operate flatbed trucks equipped for hauling a variety of cargo, including freight, lumber and specialized equipment. Your expertise in manual handling, route navigation, and safety compliance will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills on local routes, manage logistics cargo handling, and contribute to our commitment to reliable transportation services. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with flatbed configurations on routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load and unload freight efficiently using proper manual handling techniques, forklift operation when necessary, and secure cargo according to safety standards. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing travel efficiency across various terrains. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate delivery schedules, report issues promptly, and ensure smooth operations throughout each route. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record demonstrating safe driving practices. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed trailers or tractor-trailers. Familiarity with route driving across diverse terrains and local deliveries. Hands-on experience loading/unloading freight, including lumber and pallets. Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures, forklift operation certification preferred but not required. Understanding of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety standards. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely during cargo loading/unloading.
