We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. Our assistants play an essential role in providing exceptional patient care, supporting our veterinarians and technicians, and creating an outstanding experience for every client who walks through our doors. What You'll Do Every day is different, but some of your responsibilities will include: Assisting veterinarians during appointments and medical procedures Safely handling and restraining patients Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas Assisting with surgery preparation and patient recovery Collecting laboratory samples and running in-house diagnostics Taking radiographs and assisting with dental procedures Providing compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining hospital equipment Stocking supplies and keeping our hospital organized Educating clients on medications, preventive care, and home care instructions Working closely with the entire team to provide exceptional patient care and client service We're Looking For Someone Who Is Passionate about animal health and welfare Friendly, compassionate, and client-focused A positive team player with a strong work ethic Organized and detail-oriented Able to multitask in a busy environment Eager to learn and grow professionally Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous veterinary, animal care, kennel, or customer service experience preferred Veterinary Assistant experience is strongly preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to safely handle and restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. No aversion to loud noises, strong odors, or exposure to animal-related messes, including urine, feces, blood, vomit, and other bodily fluids. Comfortable working around barking dogs, vocal cats, medical equipment, cleaning chemicals, and other typical sights, sounds, and smells found in a veterinary hospital.
