Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at the Perry Pet Livonia Office location. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of our patients while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners. Duties Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for animals. Perform animal handling tasks, including restraining pets for examinations, treatments, nails trims, and blood draws. Maintain cleanliness in the clinic by cleaning kennels, surgical areas, and examination rooms. General housekeeping including laundry, vacuuming, and mopping. Set up laboratory tests such as fecals and blood samples under supervision. Feeding, walking, and monitoring our boarding and in house patients. Washing instruments, preparing and sterilizing surgical packs. Monitor animal behavior and health status during their stay at the clinic or hospital. Qualifications Experience in veterinary settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided. Comfortable in handling various types of animals, including dogs and cats. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is crucial for success in this role. Pay:
