Healing Paws Veterinary Center, Mt Kisco, NY About Us:
We are a brand new veterinary clinic open since February 2025 in Mt. Kisco, NY. At Healing Paws Veterinary Center, we pride ourselves on providing compassionate and high-quality care to our patients. As a privately owned small animal general practice, we emphasize a warm, family-like environment where our team and clients feel valued and supported. We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant or receptionist to join our team and help us deliver excellent care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Assistant who is passionate about animal care and excited to contribute to a dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive role and is eager to grow professionally while making a difference in the lives of our patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures Handle and care for animals, including restraining them during exams and procedures Collect patient histories and maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient Assist with diagnostic procedures Clean and sterilize equipment, exam rooms, and animal housing areas Educate pet owners on proper pet care, treatments, and preventive health measures Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals and their owners This position involves cross training with front desk duties as well.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; veterinary assistant certification or related coursework preferred Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with care and confidence Ability to lift at least 40lbs Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
