Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinary team in providing exceptional animal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in animal husbandry, handling, and clinical procedures, with a keen interest in advancing their veterinary experience. As a Veterinary Receptionist/ Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting veterinarians and technicians with daily patient care, laboratory tasks, and front desk responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic operation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop comprehensive skills within a dynamic veterinary environment. Duties Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, handling, and transportation to ensure safety for both animals and team members. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under supervision, following proper aseptic techniques and veterinary protocols. Support animal husbandry activities including feeding, bathing and basic grooming, and cleaning enclosures to promote optimal animal health and comfort. Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection and handling . Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments, medications, and procedures performed. Provide front desk support by scheduling appointments, managing client communications, and processing payments efficiently. Assist with procedures involving animal catheterization, restraint techniques for dogs felines and pocket pets, and basic understanding of animal anatomy and physiology. Uphold high standards of pet care and animal welfare while adhering to safety protocols and veterinary terminology. Qualifications Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal care experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of animal handling techniques across various species including dogs, cats, and pocket pets. Experience with veterinary technician tasks such as medication administration and aseptic procedures. Familiarity with laboratory work related to veterinary diagnostics is preferred. Basic understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices within a veterinary setting. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members professionally. Previous veterinary clinic or assistant experience is advantageous; however, motivated individuals eager to learn are encouraged to apply. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
