Job Description

Northstar Veterinary Surgery is an independently owned specialty surgical referral practice in Phoenix Oregon. We are looking to add an experienced veterinary technician or veterinary assistant to our team. We are a highly specialized clinic, and all team members work closely together. We are seeking the right person to complement our existing team. We are focused on providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. Having a good attitude towards work and kind character are as important as technical skills. Experience working in the veterinary field is required, however significant experience in surgery is not. We perform numerous advanced surgical procedures that most candidates will not have had an opportunity to have been exposed to. Experience working safely and patiently with patients in a veterinary setting is expected however familiarity with advanced surgical procedures and OR etiquette is not as training will be provided Duties will include working directly with clients, patient restraint, taking x-rays, scrubbing into surgical procedures, inducing/monitoring anesthesia Technicians will be expected to induce and monitor anesthesia. General duties will include cleaning/sterilizing of surgical instruments and keeping our facility clean, organized and stocked. Compensation is commensurate with experience/qualifications and will range between $26-36/hr. Employees can enroll in our 401k program with a matching employer contribution. Health, dental and vision insurance plans are also available. We offer two weeks of paid vacation and a generous holiday schedule. Additional paid time off includes all major holidays (including theFriday after thanksgiving) and approximately a week off during the Christmas break alternating between the week before and the week after Christmas.
