The Dalles Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a privately owned, established small animal practice serving The Dalles and the surrounding Columbia Gorge community. We are looking for someone who is dependable, motivated, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable in a busy veterinary hospital environment. Responsibilities Depending on experience and licensure, responsibilities may include: Assisting veterinarians with appointments and treatments Obtaining patient histories and TPRs Blood draws and IV catheter placement Running in-house bloodwork and urinalysis Preparing and administering medications and injections Filling prescriptions Taking radiographs Surgical preparation and patient monitoring Dental procedures and dental radiographs Patient restraint and handling Preparing treatment plans and estimates Maintaining accurate medical records Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining treatment and exam areas Educating clients regarding medications, treatments, and discharge instructions We are looking for someone who: Has previous veterinary hospital experience Is comfortable handling dogs and cats Has strong communication and customer service skills Can work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Is dependable and ready to work as part of a team Is willing to continue learning and expanding their technical skills Can take initiative and recognize what needs to be done without constant direction Oregon CVT licensure is preferred for technician applicants, but experienced Veterinary Assistants are encouraged to apply.
