About Brushy Creek Veterinary Clinic Brushy Creek Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned small animal practice serving the Round Rock/North Austin community for more than 40 years. Modern in-house lab including ProCyte, Catalyst, SediVue, & Microscope Dental suite with dental radiography & Prestige Dental Machine Digital radiography & Butterfly iQ+ ultrasound Dedicated soft tissue surgery suite Updated anesthetic machines & multiparameter bluetooth monitoring equipment Avimark PIMS with exam-room accessibility Skylight Calendar integrated with Google Calendar for streamlined staff scheduling What You'll Do This position will provide hands-on support throughout the day and offers a variety of opportunities to use and develop your veterinary skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing excellent patient care, handling, and restraint Obtaining and documenting patient histories, vital signs, and weights Performing in-house laboratory testing and preparing specimens for reference laboratories Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Placing and maintaining IV catheters and administering fluids as prescribed Monitoring patients receiving anesthesia under the direction of a veterinarian Operating and maintaining anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment Providing nursing care to hospitalized, injured, and recovering patients Preparing patients, instruments, and equipment for surgery Cleaning, maintaining, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment Assisting with dental procedures and dental radiography Obtaining diagnostic radiographs and demonstrating appropriate positioning techniques Assisting with surgical and dental procedures Maintaining accurate medical records Communicating with clients in a compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable manner Educating clients about medications, treatments, preventative care, and products recommended by the veterinarian Maintaining knowledge of current preventative healthcare recommendations Keeping treatment, surgical, and work areas clean, organized, and well stocked Working collaboratively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and reception staff Taking initiative and looking for ways to contribute to the team and improve patient care The Person We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Genuinely enjoys veterinary medicine and takes pride in providing excellent patient care Has a strong work ethic, is dependable, and takes initiative Works well as part of a team and communicates respectfully and professionally with coworkers and clients Is eager to learn and grow, while bringing compassion, teamwork, and a positive attitude to the workplace Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is required. We are happy to train and develop the right candidate's skills, particularly for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to grow. Pay:
