Job Description

Potomac Valley Veterinary Surgical Specialist (privately owned) is looking for a part time Licensed Veterinary Technician or assistant to join our team. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic that can provide excellent patient care and great client communication. The working schedule would be 2 to 3 days a week in 10 hour shifts with the potential to move to full time. Working Saturdays in the fall is a must. We are a surgical practice only, that currently has 3 surgeons who perform soft tissue, orthopedic and limited cardio surgeries. This includes but is not limited to TPLOs, TTAs, extracapsular repairs, fracture repairs, FHOs, routine/emergency abdominal laparotomies, mass removals, amputations, etc. Knowledge of these procedures is preferred but we are willing to train a highly motivated individual. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: IV catheters Blood draw Anesthesia monitoring Scrub nurse Radiology Bandage care and changes Sterilization About you: Basic surgical instrument knowledge Experienced and knowledgeable in proper animal handling and restraint Knowledge of patient positioning for radiology Skilled in drug calculation and administration Excellent client communication skills Must have positive attitude and ability to thrive in a busy environment Ability to multi task Desire to learn and develop new skills Be consistant and reliable A team player We hope to hear from you soon and look forward to you joining our fun team!
