About Glacier Ridge Veterinary Services Glacier Ridge Veterinary Services is a growing mobile veterinary practice serving the Mat-Su Valley, Anchorage, and surrounding rural communities. We provide compassionate, practical veterinary care directly to our clients and their animals, with a focus on small animal, rural, and mixed-animal medicine. We are looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team and help us continue building our practice. The Position This is a part-time position for a motivated veterinary technician with strong small-animal technical skills, particularly anesthesia, who is interested in working in a mobile, rural, mixed-animal environment. Because we are a growing one-doctor practice, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants to play an important role in building something from the ground up. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, recognizing what needs to be done, and taking ownership of their responsibilities without needing constant direction. Responsibilities Assist the veterinarian with appointments and procedures Provide high-quality patient care before, during, and after procedures Monitor anesthesia and assist with anesthetic procedures Obtain and process diagnostic samples Administer medications and vaccinations as directed Assist with restraint and handling of small and mixed-animal patients Maintain medical equipment, supplies, and the mobile clinic Maintain accurate patient records Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients Help prepare for mobile appointments and maintain an organized work environment Work independently on assigned tasks and identify areas that need attention Assist with a variety of small-animal and mixed-animal cases
What We're Looking For Required:
Current veterinary technician license/credential for the state of Alaska Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting Strong small-animal technical skills Experience with small-animal anesthesia Ability to work independently and responsibly Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to handle a physically demanding and sometimes unpredictable mobile environment We value: Experience Integrity Compassion Understanding Initiative A strong work ethic A willingness to learn A passion for mobile, rural, and mixed-animal veterinary medicine The Ideal Candidate You are someone who doesn't need to be told what needs to be done.
