Job Description

Overview Join our veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, assist with surgical procedures, and ensure the highest standards of animal handling and client communication. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures using medical equipment operation skills. Perform animal restraint, handling, and animal husbandry to ensure safety and comfort for pets and staff. Conduct laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, and veterinary laboratory testing to support accurate diagnoses. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following aseptic techniques and veterinary protocols. Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, including general anesthesia and veterinary anesthesia monitoring, ensuring patient safety. Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical & intensive care, vascular access, IV insertion, and animal catheterization. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, document radiology diagnostics, and assist with pet grooming or dog training as needed. Qualifications Licensed veterinary technician with some experience preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and emergency medicine practices. Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, IV insertion, and animal catheterization. Experience with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology including X-ray imaging. Familiarity with general anesthesia protocols, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, and critical & intensive care procedures. Ability to operate medical equipment effectively while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners on pet care and treatment plans.
