Our brand-new hybrid hospital offers both general practice and urgent care, giving our team the opportunity to provide both scheduled and emergency services in a modern, fully equipped facility. We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia & Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced veterinary technician who is passionate about anesthesia, surgery, and critical patient care, while also being flexible and eager to contribute to all areas of the hospital. Because we are a hybrid facility, every day will look different - some days focused on scheduled surgeries and procedures, while other days require more emergent surgical support. Outside of surgery and anesthesia, this position will also include contributing as a veterinary technician in other areas of the hospital, such as patient care, performing diagnostics, and client education.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in surgical and anesthetic procedures for both scheduled and emergent cases. Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical and anesthetic equipment. Safely and effectively induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia. Perform advanced nursing care, including IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and critical patient monitoring. Provide excellent patient care in pre-op, intra-op, and post-op settings. Support veterinarians in emergency procedures when needed. Maintain accurate anesthetic and surgical records. Educate clients on surgical procedures, recovery, and home care. Contribute to hospital workflow outside of anesthesia/surgery when caseloads allow (general nursing, diagnostics, treatments, etc.). Mentor and support junior staff in anesthesia and patient care.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited veterinary technician program. Credentialed veterinary technician (RVT, CVT, LVT) preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of veterinary hospital experience, with a strong background in anesthesia and surgery. Proficiency in anesthetic monitoring, emergency response, and surgical prep/recovery. Strong understanding of anesthetic drugs, ventilators, and advanced monitoring equipment. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, variable caseload environment. Compassionate, patient-focused attitude.

Preferred:

Experience in an emergency or specialty setting. Familiarity with advanced anesthetic equipment (e.g., ventilators, laparoscopic equipment, monitoring systems).
