Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Registered Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional animal care and supporting our veterinary professionals. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of animals, utilize advanced medical equipment, and contribute to critical and emergency care. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the highest standards of animal handling, medical procedures, and client communication are maintained daily, fostering a compassionate environment for pets and their owners alike. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring sterile techniques are followed. Perform laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, cytology, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary software and radiology diagnostics tools. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately while monitoring anesthesia during surgical procedures and critical care situations. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; perform IV insertions, vascular access, animal catheterization, and manage pet care routines. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, anesthesia monitors, phlebotomy tools, and diagnostic radiology devices to support veterinary procedures. Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatment plans, medication administration, and laboratory results in compliance with veterinary protocols. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet health concerns, treatment options, post-operative care instructions, and follow-up appointments. Qualifications Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Demonstrated proficiency in animal husbandry, dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and emergency medicine practices. Familiarity with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, aseptic technique, radiology diagnostics including X-ray procedures, and laboratory work. Experience with general anesthesia administration and monitoring as well as veterinary surgical assistance. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently; strong understanding of veterinary software systems. Excellent communication skills for client interaction; ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations such as critical & intensive care cases. Additional skills such as equine experience or familiarity with veterinary critical care are considered assets but are not mandatory.
