Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician (Registered Veterinary Technician - RVT), where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all veterinary protocols are followed with precision. Perform animal restraint using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and treatments. Collect blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory testing; operate diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray machines; and process laboratory work accurately. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, monitoring animal responses closely. Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software, documenting all procedures, treatments, and client communications clearly and accurately. Support anesthesia administration and monitoring during surgical procedures, including IV insertion, vascular access management, and anesthetic equipment operation. Handle pet care duties such as grooming, feeding, cleaning kennels, and providing comfort to hospitalized animals in critical or intensive care units. Assist with radiology diagnostics including X-ray imaging and interpretation under veterinarian supervision; ensure aseptic techniques are maintained at all times. Support emergency medicine efforts by responding swiftly to urgent cases with animal handling expertise and critical care skills. Communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans, post-operative care instructions, and general pet health advice to foster trust and satisfaction. Experience Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong foundation in animal husbandry, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory work, radiology diagnostics, and emergency medicine. Kennel experience combined with dog handling skills to manage diverse animal behaviors confidently. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and surgical assistance techniques. Hands-on experience with medical equipment operation including radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, phlebotomy tools, and veterinary software systems. Familiarity with veterinary critical & intensive care procedures such as IV insertion, vascular access management, catheterization, and aseptic technique adherence. Ability to perform diagnostic tests like radiographs (X-ray), laboratory analyses, and pet care routines efficiently in a fast-paced environment. $22.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
