Fenton River Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Customer Service Representative/Veterinary Technician Hybrid to join our growing team in Ashford, CT. As a hybrid team member, you'll split your time between providing outstanding customer service at the front desk and assisting our veterinarians and technicians with patient care. Our Ashford location is a collaborative, supportive environment where our doctors, technicians, and client service representatives work together to provide the highest level of care for our patients and their families. Position Responsibilities Client Service Responsibilities Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion. Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and client inquiries promptly and courteously. Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures while accurately documenting information. Utilize veterinary software to manage medical records, invoicing, and client communications. Process payments, credit card transactions, and daily financial transactions. Educate clients on hospital services, preventive care, online pharmacy options, and available resources. Coordinate with our sister hospitals when referrals or additional services are needed. Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including organizing reception areas, filing, correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. Help create a positive client experience during every interaction. Veterinary Technician Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures. Safely restrain patients and provide compassionate handling for dogs, cats, and exotic species. Collect laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing, including blood draws, urinalysis, and other in-house laboratory procedures. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Assist with radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures. Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care. Maintain accurate medical records using proper veterinary terminology. Practice proper aseptic techniques and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and hospital cleanliness. Educate clients on medications, home care instructions, preventive medicine, and general pet health. Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn. Positive, adaptable, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is required. Veterinary technician experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and common medical procedures. Experience with animal handling and restraint. Familiarity with laboratory procedures, radiology, and patient care. Experience using veterinary practice management software is a plus. Interest in continuing education and professional growth.
