Our hospital offers advanced specialty services including Behavior, Emergency and Critical Care/ ICU, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery/Orthopedics. Our team values accountability, integrity, teamwork, and is committed to delivering the highest standard of veterinary medical care. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving Miami-Dade County and the surrounding South Florida community. TPHS Miami is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine TEAM! Our Internal Medicine department provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with complex medical conditions. The team collaborates closely with other services to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. About You The success of your patients' care matters to you, and your success matters to us. Your Experience & Skills Veterinary Technician licensure (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, NOT required ! Experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply! 1-2 years of clinical experience in a specialty service is required Internal Medicine or specialty experience preferred A degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients Assist the Internal Medicine team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow Prepare patients for diagnostics and procedures, including patient assessments, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and treatment preparation Monitor patients during sedation, treatments, and recovery Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures in accordance with Florida Veterinary Practice Act guidelines Support endoscopy, ultrasound, and other Internal Medicine procedures as directed by the medical team Communicate with clients regarding individualized pet health concerns, treatment plans, medications, and Thrive Membership options Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records utilizing hospital practice management systems Obtain relevant patient histories and client information Use safe restraint techniques and uphold hospital safety protocols Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and laboratory areas Mentor and support fellow team members while contributing to a positive hospital culture You'll Grow With Us Here, you can grow your career as best fits you through access to comprehensive learning and skillset programs.
