The technician carries out feedings, watering and turn outs of all dogs and cats. Afternoon responsibilities include assisting with training, playgroups and enrichment. Duties and Responsibilities Feed and water animals in morning and afternoon Turn out dogs in day pens morning and afternoon Disinfect and clean all dog housing, light clean 2 pm and 5 pm Sweep, dust and pick up as needed in aisle ways Maintain all animal support areas including laundry, food storage, turn outs and aisleways Clean catteries including cages, litter boxes and floors Clean Medical Room cages Overseeing volunteers who assist with any ACT tasks Assist Lead Animal Care Technician by notating and reporting changes in animal behavior, eating, etc. Enrichment for dogs in kennels Other duties as assigned Qualifications Shelter experience preferred General knowledge of small animal care and behavior preferred Excellent organization skills Self-directed High School Diploma or GED Physical Requirements Ability to stand for four or more hours Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance Benefits PTO Health, dental and vision coverage
