Veterinary Technician (Small Animal)

Job Description

Makawao Veterinary Clinic, a rapidly growing veterinary clinic in Makawao, HI, has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Vet Technician to add to our dedicated team of care professionals! In this position you will spend the majority of your time assisting the other Technicians and Veterinarians with the care and treatment of the pets who depend on us. Primary Responsibilities Our Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in supporting our Veterinarians in providing excellent patient care.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

Expertly draw blood Place IV catheters Administer IV and subcutaneous injections Deliver excellent patient nursing care Manage Surgical prep, surgical and post-surgical monitoring Provide superior client service, educating pet parents with a tailored approach Assist with laboratory procedures Complete special projects assigned by our Doctors Qualifications A minimum of 1-2 years of veterinary experience is required. Experience with catheters, dental procedures, laboratory procedures, radiology, anesthesia, patient assessments, and good client communication is important. The ability to effectively prioritize and meet multiple requests at one time. Must be tech savvy with the ability to learn new software quickly. Truly superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your style to meet the needs of the person with whom you are communicating. Hours & Availability The Makawao Veterinary Clinic team provides excellent care for pets (and their humans) during the following hours of operation: Monday -

Saturday:

7:30am - 6:00pm

Sunday:

Four ten hour shifts/week
