Job Description
Animal Care Clinic in Western Shawnee, Kansas is seeking an experienced, Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. A technician holding the Veterinary Technician Degree, but without state certification, will be considered. Our current need is for Mondays , Tuesdays, and Fridays 7:45am-6:00pm, exam rooms plus surgery assistance, and Wednesdays 7:45am-6:00pm exam rooms. This position will also require one or two Saturdays 7:45am-1:00 exam rooms. We need a technician who is comfortable and confident in assisting with surgical and dental procedures, as well as being empathetic and knowledgeable when working directly with clients. We are a privately owned, busy, small animal clinic with three incredible doctors. We treat dogs and cats here, with separate clinic areas for each, and offer appointment only scheduling, with services that include general medicine, education, nutritional care, surgery, digital radiography, and dentistry. As veterinary medical professionals, we strive to offer excellence in medicine and education, offering extraordinary service and compassionate care. It is our goal to serve the life of the pet(s) and the people that love them, and to strengthen the human/animal bond. Our current technicians exemplify reliability, compassion, and effective communication skills. We are looking to hire a technician who shares these same qualities. We need someone who can work well with a team, as well as individually. This person must be able to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and have the ability to handle a fast-paced environment. All of our staff members share our values of caring for all of the life stages of our patients with expertise, compassion, respect and patience. Experience with Avimark is a plus. Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to: conducting examination visits alongside our doctors, client education/communication, performing in-house laboratory work, administering and monitoring anesthesia, assisting with surgical procedures ranging from routine spay/neuter to soft tissue and very limited orthopedics, dental prophylaxis, digital radiography, nail trims, anal gland expressions, fluid administration, administering vaccinations and other injections. Hourly wage will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
