Job Description

Job Summary Green Acres Pet Center is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of animal physiology and care, along with hands-on experience in a veterinary setting. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in the health and well-being of our animal patients, assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care. Successful candidates must be energetic and have good communication, organizational, and judgement skills. Experience necessary Required Veterinary Technician (RVT)License desirable but not required. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples. Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian. Prep animal patients for surgeries and procedures. Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Handle animals safely and humanely, ensuring their comfort and safety. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment (Clean/sanitize animal crates, sinks, tables, and work & cabinet surfaces. Sweep, mop/sanitize floors). Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures. Required Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures. Proficiency in dog handling and restraint. Ability to work extended shifts (shift ends when last patient is picked up). Desirable Qualifications Veterinary technician experience Animal catheterization
