ANIMAL TECHNICIAN SR
University of Missouri-Columbia parental leave, paid time off United States, Missouri, Columbia 801 Conley Avenue (Show on map) Mar 26, 2026 Hiring Department Division of Animal Sciences Job Description Providing animal care, recordkeeping and support for the National Swine Resource and Research Center. These high-value animals are housed at multiple locations across campus and represent an important genetic resource for the biomedical community; therefore, the position must be able to maintain strict biosecurity across all sites. Job duties include, but are not limited to: 70% Feed and Care of NSRRC pigs 10% Breeding and farrowing which may include semen collection, litter processing and estrus detection 5% Record keeping 5% Swine health monitoring and care 5% Swine transport and maintenance of transport vehicles 5% Other duties as assigned, which may include; helping with euthanization, sample collections from live or morbid animals, and disposal of morbid animals at the VMDL. Shift 40 hours/week, workdays negotiable based on facility needs Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Possesses and utilizes broadened technical knowledge and skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.27 -$24.91 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
