Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, IV insertion, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and radiology diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and ensuring proper animal comfort and safety Conduct animal handling and restraint using appropriate techniques for dogs, cats, equines, and other species Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, anesthesia systems, laboratory analyzers, and radiology equipment with precision Administer medications and vaccinations following veterinary protocols while monitoring patient responses Maintain detailed records using veterinary software and ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during procedures Support critical & intensive care units by providing emergency medicine assistance and monitoring animals in veterinary critical care settings Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care Experience Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and basic veterinary procedures is highly valued Experience with dental terminology, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, vascular access techniques such as IV insertion and catheterization is advantageous Familiarity with laboratory work including phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology enhances your ability to support diagnostic processes Hands-on experience in emergency medicine or critical care settings demonstrates your ability to handle urgent situations confidently Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are essential for success in this role Prior veterinary technician experience or certification is a plus but motivated learners are encouraged to apply Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact the health and happiness of animals.
