Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced LVT to join our growing team in the heart of New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys being hands-on, loves dentistry and surgery, and wants to work alongside doctors and teammates who truly value technician expertise. We are specifically seeking an LVT who is highly proficient in: Dental prophylaxis- Dental radiographs
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Medical math and drug calculations
- Surgical preparation
- Intubation
- IV catheter placement
- Venipuncture and blood collection
- Patient recovery and nursing care
- General treatment floor support In addition to dentistry and surgery, we are looking for a technician who enjoys being an active part of a busy hospital floor, supporting appointments, hospitalized patients, diagnostics, and day-to-day patient care.

https://abingdonsquarevet.com Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis and obtain high-quality dental radiographs- Monitor anesthesia independently and confidently
- Calculate medications, CRIs, and anesthetic protocols accurately
- Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures
- Intubate patients safely and efficiently
- Place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples
- Perform laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring
- Assist with surgical and dental procedures
- Monitor patients through recovery and hospitalization
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs
- Support doctors during appointments and treatment plans
- Educate clients regarding treatments, medications, and preventive care
- Collaborate closely with the entire hospital team to maintain workflow and patient care standards Qualifications Active New York Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred
- Strong dentistry and anesthesia experience required
- Comfortable with dental radiographs and dental prophylaxis
- Strong medical math and drug calculation skills
- Excellent patient handling and nursing care skills
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Fear Free experience is a plus
- Vetspire experience is a plus, but not required
- Positive, team-oriented attitude Schedule We believe in work-life balance and offer: Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week
