Job Description

We are a woman-owned, growing integrative general practice veterinary clinic located on Johns Island, South Carolina, with unique opportunities for learning new modalities. We use a common sense approuch utilizing traditional and alternative medicine. We are seeking a skilled, responsible, and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician for full or part-time hours. You must be willing to work some weekends. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.
Qualifications:
Veterinary experience Veterinary technician experience Animal care, handling, and restraint IV catheterization placement Specimen collection and diagnostics Surgical prep and monitoring Medication administration Veterinary critical care experience Communication skills Management skills
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians Prepare animals for surgery, monitor, and record their vital signs during procedures Perform dental scaling, cleanings, and dental radiographs Provide general and supportive care for patients Maintain accurate medical records for all patients Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments Assist with animal handling and restraint Maintain the cleanliness of the clinic Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns Work as part of a team and communicate openly
Skills:
Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal physiology techniques Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Ability to multitask and work efficiently Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members Experience in animal husbandry Critical thinking to keep the clinic running smoothly Phlebotomy Empathy for pet owners, patients, and team members
