Excellent opportunity to join an incredible team! Creek and Meadow Veterinary Hospital, a mixed animal practice in Gretna, Virginia, is growing! We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, experienced professional to join our team as a veterinary technician. Our staff help drive the success and continued growth of the practice through a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate must be personable, confident, professional and detail oriented. Strong communication, organization, customer service skills and a team focused attitude are required. Ideal candidates will be licensed veterinary technicians or equivalent education and experience in small animal surgery, dentistry, nursing, treatment, lab work, and radiology. Applicants must possess a working knowledge of anesthesia, infectious disease protocols, pharmacology, venipuncture, and critical care. We will consider candidates interested in a part time or full time position. A working interview is required. Creek and Meadow Veterinary Hospital offers a large variety of services to both small animals as well as large animals. Our services include wellness examinations, immunizations, surgery, digital radiology, in-house laboratory, ultrasound, boarding, breeding, dentistry, and inpatient hospitalization. We offer small animal appointments and drop offs as well as haul in and farm call large animal appointments to our clients. Minimum Qualifications Anesthesia induction and monitoring Calculating medication doses and fluid rates Pulling blood, placing catheters, and running fluids Administering and record keeping of all medications, fluids, and vaccinations Gathering patient history and medical record keeping Prior leadership responsibility for the organization and flow of surgeries and appointments Discussing medications and discharge instructions with owners The ability to meet the physical demands of working a shift standing, squatting, walking, lifting and carrying 40lbs unassisted Dependable and punctual attendance Multitask, prioritize, and be efficient in all tasks Identify, analyze, and solve problems Find solutions to problems, present options and ideas to enhance current processes or procedures Work with others in a team environment Be flexible to changing situations and willing to perform all hospital tasks Be pleasant, courteous, concerned, and helpful to all clients under all conditions and at all times, regardless of circumstance Preferred Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician Experience with small animals is required Benefits We currently offer group health and dental insurance, paid holidays and vacation time for full time employees and discounted services, products, labs, and pet food for personal pets.
