Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Imaging Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing certain areas of the Urgent Care or Surgery Imaging offices in collaboration with the Associate Division Director-Urgent Care or Program Manager-Surgery. Provides friendly, efficient, fiscally-responsible and customer-responsive practice operations. Supervises or leads clinical and clerical staff, ensuring an effective team environment. Serves as communication liaison with other IHA departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises day to day operations of assigned areas to ensure efficient, fiscally responsible and customer-responsive procedures and operations in multiple locations. Addresses and communicates thoroughly and promptly with leadership regarding all issues impacting day to day operations. Contributes to the development and ongoing implementation of the CORE program work plan. Ensures efficient and effective scheduling, timekeeping and payroll for assigned staff. Is liaison for Program Manager and Radiologist group; ensures policies and procedures are followed in compliance with federal regulations. Is Physician liaison for any quality control concerns. Assists with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of clinical staff, in accordance with IHA human resources and service guidelines. Effectively organizes training materials for new employees, maintaining the most recent version. Evaluates or gives input into the performance of clinical staff, recommends merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions in accordance with IHA human resources and service guidelines. Performs annual Clinical Competency assessments. Works with Program Manager and Radiologist groups to develop and clarify clinical protocols for staff. Holds regular staff meetings; keeps staff informed on any change in guidelines or protocols and information pertinent to job requirements. Provides suggestions for continuous office process improvement. Assists in development and oversight of program budget. Manages internal and external clinical office audits.
Assists with monthly reports:
Referring Physician, Capacity and studies sent to preferred radiology group. Monitors and submits monthly the radiation badges of all clinical staff to Quantam. Collaborates with site leadership and maintains OSHA requirements for all sites. Oversees the Office Safety Officer. Implements and maintains imaging clinical supplies inventory control system and identifies and implements opportunities for cost efficiencies. Manages equipment maintenance and repairs. Attends Clinical Leadership Meetings and reports back details of the meetings to office staff. Assists with organization, presentation and scheduling of office meetings. Provides support to clerical and clinical staff and providers as needed. When supporting the clerical staff, tasks to support may include answering phones, tasking messages for the MA/Provider Group, completing medical records requests and working the fax server/mail. When supporting the clinical staff, tasks to support may include rooming patients, obtaining patient vitals, running simple tests (strep test, urine), cleaning exam rooms, ordering USN/X-ray Requisitions and MRI/CT Requisitions, along with scheduling the MRI/CT for UC patients. Acts as
EPIC EMR
Super-User. Supports other offices, attends required meetings and trainings, and participates in committees as requested. Assists with special projects as needed. Non-Supervisory Radiology Technician Responsibilities 1. Confirms patient identity is correct. 2. Interprets patient histories and physician instructions. 3. Prepares patients for procedures utilizing aseptic and sterile technique. 4. Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic examinations. 5. Uses independent judgment during the radiologic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. Practices radiation protection. Positions patients for radiologic examination. Selects exposure factors, takes exposure and processes images. 8. Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in your care. 9. Directly enters medication, laboratory, and/or radiology orders into the electronic medical record per state, local and professional guidelines. 10. Responds to patient emergencies as needed. 11. Performs other administrative support tasks as needed.
