Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Business Analyst within the Information Technology Department. This full-time, exempt (FLSA) staff position (2,080 annual hours) reporting to the Director of Strategic Technology Projects & Continuous Improvement and serves as a strategic partner between IT and university stakeholders. This role works collaboratively with administrative departments to understand business needs, document requirements, analyze and improve processes, and assist in managing strategic technology projects. This position is part of an ongoing effort to update and improve the institution's technology environment in support of students, faculty, and staff. The Business Analyst will contribute to initiatives that impact business processes and digital systems, working within a small IT team that collaborates regularly across functions. The role involves participation in projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the institution's long-term technology strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Document requirements and lead business process analysis activities to enhance operational efficiency Define process solution scope and lead teams in mapping current and future state processes Partner with IT developers to align system enhancements and application development with business needs Organize tasks and break work into manageable, actionable components with clear definitions of completion Facilitate stakeholder requirements sessions and cross-functional reviews to identify improvement opportunities Manage project execution, including planning, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation Schedule and facilitate project update meetings throughout all project phases Define acceptance criteria and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, facilitation, and communication skills Experience with relational databases, including complex report and query design Demonstrated ability to solve problems with creative solutions Ability to work independently and with complex, cross-functional teams Proven experience with business process improvement and workflows Ability to utilize AI for efficiency gains while maintaining accuracy Understanding of Agile Project Methodology or Lean Six Sigma principles
