We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal with demonstrated knowledge of proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) to join our IP practice group. In this role, you will provide sophisticated litigation support across complex Section 337 investigations, administrative matters, and related district court matters, working under the supervision of a team of IP litigators. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ITC
Section 337 Investigation Support
  • Manage all phases of ITC Section 337 investigations, from complaint preparation through the evidentiary hearing and Commission review.
  • Coordinate filing logistics with the ITC Office of the Secretary, including electronic submission via EDIS and compliance with Local Rules and Ground Rules.
  • Prepare and organize witness lists, exhibit lists, pre-hearing statements, and joint stipulations of fact.
  • Assist with the preparation of pre-hearing briefs, post-hearing briefs, and petitions for review before the full Commission.
  • Track and manage deadlines under ITC procedural orders and the Ground Rules issued by Administrative Law Judges (ALJs).
  • Coordinate with technical experts, economic experts, and fact witnesses in preparation for evidentiary hearings. Discovery & Document Management
  • Oversee document review and production workflows.
  • Manage e-discovery processes using platforms such as Relativity, Reveal, or similar review tools.
  • Draft and coordinate responses to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate depositions, including scheduling, logistics, preparation of materials, and coordination with court reporters and videographers.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive litigation files, chronologies, and issue trackers. Trial & Hearing Preparation
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of trial and hearing exhibits, ensuring compliance with ALJ exhibit requirements.
  • Coordinate technology needs for ITC hearings, including presentation setup and real-time transcript access.
  • Prepare demonstratives and summary exhibits in coordination with trial counsel.
  • Manage witness preparation logistics and coordinate travel and accommodations for hearings in Washington, D.C. General Litigation & Administrative Support
  • Draft correspondence, motions, and procedural submissions under attorney supervision.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, foreign counsel, and co-counsel as needed.
  • Monitor dockets in PACER, EDIS, and other filing systems; circulate relevant filings promptly.
  • Assist with budgeting, billing narratives, and matter management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum 4 years of IP litigation paralegal experience, with at least 2 years of direct involvement in ITC Section 337 proceedings.
  • Proficiency with EDIS filing procedures and ITC Local Rules and Ground Rules.
  • Hands-on experience with e-discovery platforms (Relativity, Reveal, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large document populations and complex exhibit sets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize and meet firm deadlines under pressure. Preferred
  • Experience supporting district court patent litigation in parallel with ITC proceedings (dual-track litigation).
  • Familiarity with USPTO proceedings (IPR, PGR, ex parte reexamination).
  • Understanding of patent prosecution and IP portfolio management.
  • Experience with technical subject matter in one or more of the following areas: semiconductors, telecommunications, consumer electronics, life sciences, or software.
  • Proficiency with TrialDirector, Sanction, or similar trial presentation software.
  • Experience with claim construction briefing, Markman hearings, and expert report preparation.
  • Familiarity with PACER, CM/ECF, and federal district court local rules.
Compensation Salary $77,000 - $161,000 The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. #LI-NW1 In accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered.
