Junior Coach

JOB OVERVIEW

: Horizon Fitness Collective (a program of DBM Consulting) Junior Coaches provide direct support to the athletes during every session. They monitor and guide proper movement according to the individual's program and record data that contribute to the individual's progress reports. Where needed, all coaches provide non-physical behavior support to increase motivation for completion of exercises or decrease barriers that make tasks difficult for the individual.

REPORTS TO

: Clinical Fitness Program Director

LOCATION

: Visalia, CA

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

:

• Assist the athlete in following their prescribed exercise program
• Provide support and encouragement to athletes with developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities
• Guide proper body movement and body mechanics through the use of physical, visual, and auditory cues

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

:

• Competent in the use and command of the English language
• Experienced in speaking and presenting oneself professionally to a variety of people, disciplines, and personalities.
• Proficient in communication across different modalities (e.g., email, phone, message) that is attentive and prompt
• Open to feedback, proactive in task completion, enthusiastic and humbled to continuously learn regardless of experience.

SALARY :

$17 - $20 per hour (DOE)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

:

• High School Diploma
• 1-year experience participating in a physical exercise or sports program
• Active CPR/Frist Aid Certification
• Experience engaging with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus!

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
