- Lecanto, FL 34461 Job Purpose
- The Activities Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities designed to enhance the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement activity programs tailored to the needs and interests of clients, ensuring they align with therapeutic goals.
- Facilitate group and individual activities, providing guidance and support to encourage participation and engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of client participation and progress, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients during activities, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Assist in the training and supervision of volunteers and interns involved in activity programs.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new activity initiatives and strategies.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in recreational therapy to continually enhance program offerings.
Qualifications:
- Employer conducts background check
Required Education:
- High School diploma required.
- Bachelors degree in human services field preferred
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one year experience working with the target population
- Previous experience in a therapeutic or rehabilitation environment is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of therapeutic activities and their benefits in mental health treatment.
- Organizational and planning skills to create activity schedules.
- Ability to assess individual needs and tailor activities to support therapeutic goals.
- interpersonal and communication skills to engage with clients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in documenting client progress and activity outcomes.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and emergency procedures in a behavioral health setting.
Salary Range:
