Job Description
Opportunity at a Glance The Village of Orland Park is currently seeking to fill a Part-Time Crossing Guard position. Join one of the most visible Village departments and work to keep the Orland Park community safe while crossing public roadways. Key Responsibilities This part-time position has the primary responsibility of providing a safe escort of school children and pedestrians at an assigned school crossing as determined by the Department, using the natural gaps that normally occur in moving traffic and stopping traffic as necessary. It may also include working in the Police Department and attending assigned department meetings and/or functions. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Must be a responsible, dependable individual to perform assigned duties in all weather conditions and work both morning and afternoon crossings. The ability to work effectively with children, teens and adults is necessary while performing this job. Requires a valid driver's license and must have own transportation. Minimum of 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED also required. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay rate is $17.70 - $21.94, depending on experience and qualifications.
