A Crossing Patrol Guard is a vehicle traffic manager normally stationed on busy roadways to aid pedestrians or manage the movement of vehicles. They are often employed to assist around schools, events, or construction work.

Job Goal:
Provide supervision of children while waiting to cross the street or intersection, to and from school. Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all children.

Regular Requirements:
Sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach at, below and above shoulder level, repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment; lift/move up to 15 pounds
Occasional Requirements:
Walk, reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 25 pounds

Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be on duty at assigned times.
Supervises students while waiting for the bus or parent.
Enforces rules and teach rules and safety as needed. Takes proper, safe action in case of emergency or injury.
Safely gauges traffic flow and stops traffic in order to cross children across the street or intersection (at appropriately marked areas) to and from school.
Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
