Job Description:
The Office of Communications Media is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment as a Game Design Supervisor. This position will be funded by federal work study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered. Questions? Job Summary:
To supervise and assist students and faculty working in the Game Design Computer labs and Game Lounge within the Communications Media Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Controls In/Out access to Game Design Labs by having students sign in and out in Google. Checks out any necessary computing accessories from the Game Design storage closets for faculty and Coe McIninch (Supervisor.) Helps students with technical problems with the lab equipment. Makes periodic rounds of the Game Design Labs to verify security of equipment and to ensure the safe and proper use of equipment by the students. Contacts Campus Police if problems arise with security. Prepares reports for faculty regarding any technical problems they are unable to resolve. Informs faculty of any security problems. Clean trash from all rooms, wipe down tabletops, close windows, shut off lights. Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:
Job training for this position is provided and is refreshed each semester. Previous experience is not required. Lab Monitors are critical line of support with the campus community and should therefore have a professional appearance, possess good interpersonal skills, have a basic working knowledge of equipment and software utilized in specific labs, be flexible and have a positive attitude. All applicants will receive full training and will be held personally responsible for all procedures covered in said training. Appropriate supervisors should be able to assess a situation and identify when problems are more serious and seek a direct supervisor or campus police help. They should have the judgment to shut systems down when necessary. They will be required to assist students throughout their shift. Punctuality is required. If unable to cover a shift, prior notice and/or arrangements must be made in advance.

Shift Information:
This is a student only posting and you must have Federal Work Study money allocated to you in your financial aid package. Shift will vary based on student schedules and the pay is $15 per hour. Shifts hours will be 5:00pm-10:00pm. Later in the semester an optional Saturday shift will become available.
Priority Review:
Students enrolled in Communications Media, DMI, and Game Design will have priority consideration for this job.
