This role blends client representation with hands-on case strategy and document work — you'll guide clients through some of the most important transitions in their lives, while working closely with senior attorneys to build strong, practical cases. You'll be a steady, knowledgeable presence for clients navigating divorce, custody, and other family law matters, while keeping filings, deadlines, and case files moving for the firm.
What You'll Do:
Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, domestic violence restraining orders, property division, and post-judgment modifications. Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery, settlement correspondence, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail. Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other case-related appearances. Conduct legal research, evaluate case issues, and develop practical strategies aligned with each client's goals. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates, answering questions, and ensuring they feel supported throughout the legal process. Manage deadlines, case files, and workflow in an organized and professional manner.
What We're Looking For:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the California State Bar in good standing. Minimum of 3 years of experience in California family law. Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and courtroom preparation skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Compassionate, professional approach to working with clients during sensitive legal matters.
