Long Beach, CA Hiring Event Details Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Thursday, September 17, 2026 Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Have a valid California BSIS Guard Card Have a High School Diploma or GED Have a valid Pepper Spray/OC Permit Have reliable transportation Be able to pass required background and pre-employment screening Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Be comfortable working in a public-facing environment Be able to remain professional and composed during security incidents Meet all applicable licensing and certification requirements for the position Baton Permit preferred. What You'll Do As a Transit Security Officer, you'll maintain a professional and highly visible security presence while helping create a safe environment for passengers, employees, visitors, and members of the public.

Responsibilities may include:

Maintain a visible security presence in assigned areas Conduct routine foot patrols and security inspections Monitor transit areas, facilities, entrances, exits, and surrounding property Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and security incidents Assist with access control and restricted areas as assigned Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and calls for assistance Assist with crowd management and maintaining orderly public areas Use professional communication and de-escalation techniques Provide directions and professional assistance to members of the public Complete accurate incident reports and daily activity logs Communicate security concerns to appropriate personnel Follow established security procedures and post orders What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strong situational awareness Professionalism and dependability Strong customer service and communication skills Good judgment in fast-moving situations Ability to interact professionally with a diverse public Conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills Ability to follow established procedures Accurate observation and report-writing skills Previous experience in security, transit, public safety, customer service, military service, or law enforcement is a plus.
